New Digs

A bit of a belated announcement for those who don’t already know … I moved to a new job!!  On August 4, I started working at LeapFrog Enterprises in Emeryville.  So for the first time in my 10-year career since law school, I am not crossing a bridge or going through a tunnel as part of my commute!  It’s a great company (listed on the NYSE under LF) that makes excellent learning toys, platforms and content, and it’s a short drive from our house.  My practice is more focused (and more interesting to me); I’m their securities and corporate law attorney.  As with any corporate practice for a public company, I am also handling various equity benefits matters, board and stockholder governance, and anything else that affects or requires disclosure or corporate actions.  I also have my hand in international commercial transactions and some non-securities regulatory work.  This is a bit of a return to the part of my practice at Fenwick & West that I enjoyed most, and I’m getting to do it in-house!  And perhaps most importantly my colleagues are excellent lawyers and fun people, many of whom graduated at some point in their careers from UCB (or Boalt), and I’m reporting directly to the GC and SVP.  It really is exactly what I was looking for in-house, so I’m very happy with the whole thing.

Pleased

My ability to send pictures directly from flickr to the blog was broken for a while, but it’s fixed now. So I figured why not send this recent photo of Lucy to the main page. I did promise a lot more pictures and as soon as I am on a network that permits me to upload photos (i.e., at home after work), I’ll try to get more up!

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

I’ve been a slacker about kid pictures lately, so just letting you know that a ton of new ones are going up on flickr.  They date back a couple of months at least, so you’ll need to click through the recent pictures link on the photo page to back a bit, since the pictures are organized in the order that they were taken (not uploaded).  You can also click through to the older sets since most of these pictures are going in a set that I created a while ago for 2008 kid snapshots.  If you want to see all the pictures in the order I uploaded them, click through to flickr and go through my photostream.

On the pictures front, I have officially had some get published in a magazine!  Check out the East Bay edition of Bay Area Parents magazine.  My pictures were in the “Neighborhood” feature of the June and July issues.  I should be able to get a couple into that series for the next few issues too!

We’ve been busy this Spring between work, school and summer camps.  (Jay went to Dinosaur Detectives day camp at Lawrence Hall of Science, which he loved.)  We did, however, get to Yosemite in early June.  We stayed in Curry Village with our friends from Jay’s pre-school and their kids.  We had six kids and six adults, which was interesting, but a lot of fun.  Jay actually managed to hike almost to the top of the Mist Trail, but turned back near the top because of the driving wind and spray.  Next time, a poncho.

More to come!
