The Airplane Song

Like many kids, Jay is very particular about following a careful routine when he goes to bed. Its complexity defies a quick blog entry. Still, it is worth recording for posterity the lullaby that Jay has come to expect at each and every bedtime:  the lullaby known to Jay as The Airplane Song. The Airplane Song is “The Wheels on the Bus,” except that “plane” is substituted for bus, and the wheels, windows, etc., are replaced with things related to aircraft. For example, “The engines on the plane go roar, roar, roar; roar, roar, roar; roar, roar, roar,” etc., etc. For a while, Jay would suggest additional items to cover … such as the doggies, the cows, the noses, etc. Then he stopped suggesting things. Then he started again. He is now suggesting nonsense words such as the goo goos, the atchas, the sneeps, etc. Whatever helps you relax and sleep, little guy!
